I fail at life. I read this when you first posted it and LOVED it, but was on my iPhone at work and couldn't easily reply. I've only just found the email notification of your comment that I saved and am finally here to say thank you so, so much for writing this!

I really do love it. I really love the way it's both sombre and quiet (like when it's snowing softly in the mountains at night, no wind; just a quiet, waiting stillness), and that despite the seeming hushed heaviness that you described and feel throughout, there's a contentment there too. Lovely.
